Just got myself an account at
pivix, sort of the Japanese version of dA (except that it only accepts drawings/paintings/etc). If you want to get an account you can hit me up for a registration code, then follow Teruchan's
registration-howto. Unless you can read Japanese you should keep
Google's translation tool open in a tab, or if you're using Firefox install the
Greasemokey addon and the
Highlight2Translate script, so that you can just highlight a Japanese term to translate it.
Some cool features:
- It's easier to add a single favorite to multiple collections, and a lot easier to later change the collections it belongs to.
- You can mark a favorite as being private, so that other people won't be able to see you have it favorite'd.
- If you look at who else has an image favorite'd, it shows which of their collections it belongs to and links directly to those collections.
Disadvantages compared to dA:
- If you can't read Japanese yourself, the online automatic translation tools aren't that great.
- If you search for something by keyword or title it only sorts the result by date, not by popularity. There's only a small set of pre-defined popularity-sorted searches, which only go back either one day or one week.
XOXO,
Luana
